Halloween 6: Producers Cut – Numbers speak louder than words!
|
For too long Halloween fans world wide have had to settle for second best. We want to see the film how it was originally visioned and in a proper DVD release!
|
Below is what the films writer Dan Farrands had to say about the situation in an interview with the dormant, waste of bandwith, halloweenmovies.com:
“I think the much-pirated “Producer’s Cut” should be released, if only as a footnote showing how drastically a film can be altered during post production. I know there had been talk at Dimension about releasing the P-Cut on DVD, but since the studio went through some major changes over the past year I don’t know if it’s something that just dropped off the radar momentarily, or if plans have changed. I will definitely keep halloweenmovies.com up to date if I hear there has been any movement. Meanwhile, thanks to Tony Masi, I have recorded the first-ever full-length running audio commentary on HALLOWEEN 6. Segments of the track are available in this retrospective (click here), and we are talking about a way of making the entire commentary available to fans without infringing on the studio’s copyright. You may be able to download just the audio commentary and play it along with your own DVD of HALLOWEEN 6 (theatrical cut) at home. Either way, I talk a lot about the differences in each version and hopefully clear up a lot of the questions and misconceptions the fans have had about the film.”
haddonfieldillinois.com is a site made by fans for the fans and as such we have created a Facebook petition to prove to Dimension just how badly they need to release this version, so simply click here and ‘Like’ the page … numbers speaker louder than words people!
I remember that years ago when Dan was trying to get it released. Not sure if online petitions work, but what could it hurt? I remember there was a petition for it online years ago and nothing came of that.
The producer’s cut has been uploaded on YouTube for quite some time. Think of all that money the company is loosing by not releasing it. That and it seems like they don’t even care that its out there for download.
I know I’D buy it. I have a grainy copy of this and prefer it to what was released in the theatre.
If this was officially released (in either DVD or Blu-ray format), it’d be a no-brainer pre-order for me the day it was announced.
I’ve had a VHS 9/10 quality copy (as far as VHS quality goes) for 13+ years. But its VHS which is pretty much obsolete these days, and I only have one VCR which is in a room I hardly use. So I almost never watch this version anymore.
It would be awesome if they released it to BluRay. Considering how much time has gone by it wouldn’t surprise me if they never release it. Its a shame another company couldn’t get a hold of the rights
