Halloween III (1982)
Ah, the “Myerless” Halloween entry. (Actually that’s not true because in one scene they are watching Halloween on TV). The creators originally wanted to have a series of movies based on eerie happenings around the Halloween season. John Carpenter felt the Michael Myers story was over (actually he felt that way after the first film). But with the success of Halloween 1 & 2 studios wanted more. When audiences went to see this they expected Michael and didn’t get him, a lot of fans are still outraged by this Myerless entry…
A large mask making company, Silver Shamrock, has just opened shop in Santa Mira, selling Halloween masks to children all over the country. They even have a nifty commercial to suck the kiddies into begging their parents for one of these special masks.
A local doctor, Dr. Dan Challis, and a young lady, Ellie, discover a plot to kill people using these masks. They go to the Silver Shamrock factory and meet Cochran, who has stolen a rock from Stonehenge and plans to use it to cause gross mutations to any person wearing the Silver Shamrock mask. All they have to do is watch the special Silver Shamrock commercial on Halloween night and their masks will do the rest.
Ellie and Dr. Challis are captured by Cochran, but manage to escape and set the factory on fire in hopes that they’ve put a stop to the commercial and mutations.
My parents own a home in Loleta Ca.Where this movie was filmed the Loleta cheese factory still looks the same.The town has not actually changed it still looks like like the movie set in 1982.
